Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This update also brings the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns.
